Comedy Den

The Comedy Den. Totally free and headlined by a different comedian each month! BUT HOSTED as always by the irascible Charlie (I'm Tall) Smith. Comedy Den March 12th: DAVE THOMPSON Stand-up veteran Dave Thompson is probably best known for playing Tinky-Winky in the Teletubbies – especially after he was sacked in July 1997 because the BBC thought his interpretation of the role was 'unacceptable’. He is also a regular collaborator with Harry Hill, making several appearances on ITV's The All New Harry Hill Show, Shark Infested Custard and TV Burp! and playing various roles in his stage shows Wild Horses and Hooves. He has written for TV Burp! and ITV’s The Sketch Show, co-written Boothby Graffoe's four Radio 4 series, and supplied material to several other stand-ups. "Mr Thompson has become a cult among students." (DAILY TELEGRAPH). "Dave Thompson is hilarious and goes down a storm with the crowd." (DAILY MAIL). "Dave Thompson has a unique style and some of the best one-liners". (THE GUARDIAN). "The best one-liners I've heard this season". (THE INDEPENDENT). DAN MITCHELL Dan Mitchell is a stand-up comedian, mainly. He is also Welsh, epileptic, and very hairy. He is a highly creative and original thinker with an obvious love of language, animals and egg. He came second in ITV's 'Show Me the Funny' after a live vote in the Hammersmith Apollo, which was awesome. His comedy acting has helped him gain parts in the extras of both of Rhod Gilbert's best selling DVDs and his quick witted nature has helped secure him regular spots on Radio Wales' comedy news quiz 'What's the Story?' He used to have an owl, but doesn't like to brag. 'Absolutely brilliant' - Ross Noble 'A joy to watch' - Bob Mortimer 'Welcome to the world of Dan' - Alan Davies 'Razor Sharp gags' - Dan Antopolski LEWIS BOWMAN Bowman is a very funny Welsh comedian who is popular amongst circuit audiences. Chortle Student Comedy Awards – Semi Finalist TREVOR J WILLIAMS The oldest Bright Young Thing on the Cardiff comedy circuit TREVOR J WILLIAMS has been performing excellent stand-up as often as his wretched, broken, disabled body will allow.
